16U Charlton Wraps Up Season With Third Place Finish At NAFA Summer Nationals

July '25 - Newberg, OR - In their final tournament of the 2024-2025 season, Chartlon's squad went 6-2 over 4 days with a 3rd place finish in the NAFA summer Nationals. Facing a field of 29 teams, these girls left it all on the field, including a final inning run at eliminating an overwhelming deficit that fell just short in the semi final game. Congrats to Natalie Korschinowski and Sammi Jolley for team MVP honors at the tourney.

This was the last tourney of the season for the team and what a season it was. They were 16U USSSA state champions, second place in 16U USA state, had 3 other second place finishes, and 3 3rd place finishes, as well as playing in 5 college exposure tournaments. The season ender was bittersweet as two beloved team members called it a career and ended their softball journey with this final run. Newcomer Morgan Lange brought speed, talent and excitement to the squad this season. Pitcher Marley Speece, an original team member from the very first 10U team, has been a leader on and off the field and a shining example of the ultimate teammate, showing character and grace throughout her time with the team. Their presence will be missed.

One final, emotional post-game talk as the team celebrated an outstanding season, but bid farewell to two beloved teammates who are hanging up their cleats.
