16U Charlton Takes On Heat And All Opposition in Runner Up Finish At USA State
July ’25 – Selah, WA – In temperatures soaring up to 101 degrees, the 16U Charlton squad nearly went back-to-back on State Championships. After winning the USSSA State Championship two weeks earlier, the squad nearly made it a two-fer after a tough tourney in the desert heat for the USA Softball A/B State Championship. Falling just short, the team came in 2ndand took away hardware and some tough earned experience in perseverance. Kudos to catcher McKenna Charlton, who caught every inning in the heat (due to catcher Kaylie Plyler’s pre-planned vacation). Finally succumbing to a strong and often-faced Diamond Cats team, it was a memorable trip and solidifies this team as one of the tops in the State.
